This is an Egyptian head or bust, looking like a classic pharaoh, made by Hyalyn Porcelain, Inc. It is 10.5" tall. Hyalyn was based in central North Carolina and produced a wide variety of decorative and functional pieces during the Mid-20th century. Almost all Hyalyn pieces were marked on the bottom with the Hyalyn name and a model number; this piece is simply marked 'hyalyn.' It's possible that this is one of the pieces from the 'Sculpture' line which included the African head. I have also seen this Pharaoh piece in solid black and in a sand finish. This piece is in excellent, very fine, undamaged condition, with no chips or cracks whatsoever . Condition : No chips or cracks of any kind. No repairs. No crazing.
