The 2009 Lincoln Commemorative Silver Dollar Celebrates the bicentennial of the birth of our nation's most beloved president. The coin program was authorized by Congress and had a maximum coinage of 500,000 pieces. Even with that number, the coin sold out within a week of its issue, making the 2009 Lincoln Silver Dollar one of the most successful modern commemorative programs in U.S. history. The coin is beautiful, this coin in particular is graded PR-70 DCAM by ICG. This is the highest grade a proof coin can earn. It's perfectly struck from fresh dies on a high quality 90% silver planchet. The deep cameo contrast is as thick as 12 inches of snow. The obverse features a likeness of Lincoln taken from Daniel Chester French's immortal monolithic statue of the President, which sits at the Lincoln Memorial. The Reverse features an elegant passage from the Gettysburg Address.
