These start out as computer server power supplies that are refurbished, clean and in top working condition. They are incredibly stable, efficient and have temperature controlled cooling fans. Very quiet under most conditions. Then I convert them for lipo charger use. I bump the voltage from 12.3v, to 12.6v (tested with a quality meter) then add internal voltage meters which have been calibrated to match the output voltage. Now some of these meters must not be as good as the meter I tested with. Because after I adjusted them to match the voltage and finished assembly. I found that some of them are 1/10 of a volt off. But they are all still producing 12.6 volts regardless what the panel meter says.I use 4mm bullet connectors which I cut a groove in so I can solder them to both sides of the power rail. This gives a better connection for high power applications and reduces the risk of pulling the circuit trace off the PC board. Then I glue heat shrink to the terminals to ensure the shrink tube won't fall off and cover all the exposed electronics with automotive quality black hot glue to keep accidental shorts from happening on your work bench. I also add rubber feet to the bottom to keep them from sliding around. And last but not least. Every power supply I build is tested at 50-60 amps before it goes out.
