DESCRIPTION- Offered here is a wonderful vintage Shaker Wooden Rocking Chair in 1:12 Scale made by IGMA Fellow George Hoffman in 1975. The mark on the back wrung was incised with a dremel or engraving tool "GH 10-1975". The exotic wood used has a very inconspicuous grain pattern, as you would want in a miniature. It has a nice aged patina & is over 40 years old, which is old for an artisan miniature. It features a hand woven Shaker checkered tape seat. It measures 4 & 1/16" tall X 1 & 3/4" at its widest X 2 & 5/8" deep.OTHER HOFFMAN ITEMS- I have another rocker, made by Mark Hoffman, George's son made in 1975 which is identical to this except for with a white rush-style seat as well as 2 Corner Chairs by George Hoffman & other DH artisan items in my etsy store WoodSellers & I will be adding more here & there as well as many more Shaker & Colonial Country DH miniature furniture & accessories.MAKER- George Hoffman & his wife Sally have been involved in miniatures since 1972 when they formed "The Hoffman Collection." For many years, with the help of their son Mark, they made 1/12th scale reproduction pieces of Shaker and other 18th century furniture and accessories that were sold in several of the Shaker museums across the country including Old Sturbridge Village, MA. and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
