Offered by Over The Blue Horizon and recently obtained in Tokyo is "Aviator Uniforms and Equipment of IJN" , an exceptional reference tool published by the well-regarded Model Art Publishing Company.This oversize softcover is published on high-quality, glossy paper and is jam-packed with useful photographs (b/w and color) and color drawings of all the personal equipment used by Imperial Japanese Navy aircrew as well as the aircraft equipment that typically would be found on their aircraft. This covers personal items such as flying uniforms, parachutes, seat buckles, aircrew bags, navigator instruments, life jackets, map cases, etc. It also covers aircraft equipment such as anything found in a cockpit (speedometer, bank and turn indicator, etc), gunsights, cameras, radios, in-flight meal cases, weapons, etc. And it's also got what appears to be a full-size, rescue map. If it was taken up in an IJN aircraft, this book covers it!Text is in Japanese, but if you have any basic knowledge of aircrew uniforms and equipment, you should be able to figure most of this stuff out.
