Offered here is a good example of an Illinois Central Railroad Adlake Reliable lantern, complete with a red cast ICRR globe, font, and burner. Lantern Frame: One piece top is marked I.C.R.R. in small letters on the smoke dome and is also marked with a last US patent date of 1922 and Canadian patent dates of 1921 – 1923. The top is ding free and has a lot of tin. Latch is not broken and welded globe guards are straight. Upper globe retainer is in good shape. The lantern bottom is free of holes and dings. Globe: Red cast globe is marked I.C.R.R. in serif letters – this non-extended base globe (Corning type) was made by Kopp, and it has the Kopp logo (K in a circle). The globe is free of cracks, but has some of the usual no-show in the lantern flea bites. Burner and Tank: Brass and steel burner is in fine shape and is marked ADLAKE PAT. APR 27 1909. Tank is mottled looking as you can see from the picture and does have an old solder repair on the bottom which is a no show when the tank is in the lantern. It is hard to see the burner and tank anyway through the red globe. Shipping and Handling: Shipping and handling charges will be paid by buyer. Shipping with tracking will be by USPS priority mail. Shipping costs reflect tracking and insurance charges. Shipping only within the USA, no shipping to foreign countries. Shipping only read more
