IMPORTANT BARNETT NEWMAN OR AFTER BARNETT NEWMAN "ZIP" MINIMAL COLOR FIELD OIL PAINTING C. 1970'S! This listing is being relisted to previous buyer's non-payment. Their loss is your opportunity to get this incredible work of art! This incredible painting comes fresh from a Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania estate. The painting is in great condition considering its age. Done in the trademark style of Barnett Newman. Whether this is by Newman is a mystery. We can, however, guarantee that this is from the 1970's or earlier - as this was framed during that time by The Loft Art Gallery in Princeton, New Jersey. According to our research, The Loft Art Gallery in Princeston was in business from 1973 - 1978 and owned by a Craig and Marsha Newman. This is either done by Newman or by someone during the same time frame after Newman's style. In regard to artist, we cannot make guarantees . Regardless, it's an original work from the Color Field Minimalist Movement era which is incredibly hard to come by. Excellent for a Mid Century Modern collection. The painting's condition has some craquelure with age, minor scuffs/scratches. Sold as-shown, as-is. The condition can be easily restored by a conservator. This is one of MANY important artworks for auction this week INCLUDING ANOTHER COLOR FIELD PAINTING SIGNED BY LUDWIG SANDER! Be sure to view our
