Past listings of my custom tops have had simple descriptions but in response to several inquiring fans I am offering more detailed insights into my process and techniques.These tops are machined on a precision CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) lathe however like all computers and machines they only do what you instruct them to do so if your size or the shape of your contour is incorrect then the CNC lathe will very precisely make that incorrect size and shape.From the first version of the inception top I sold I have strived for the highest quality and to be as movie accurate as possible. My fellow Inception fans that have bought the tops have been almost 100% satisfied. Despite that fact I have continued to analyze and refine my top design to get as close to Cobb’s top as possible. It has been a challenging task. To start with t were three different tops used in the film for different camera shots including a computer generated top (I guess for a 160 million dollar movie you can not take a chance on Leonardo giving the top a bad spin). For the contour of the top’s profile I broke down the dimensions into three basic areas - the bottom spinning point area, the middle area and the upper ‘stem‘.
