Another amazing doll of the India culture. Carved wood, with expressive hands. The face is a mask set onto a plain cloth head. The dance r's co stume is lovely and gaudy, gold fabric hems on orange , red & green silk. Metal spring loops and bells. The label on the bottom reads "Dancer Katmandu India" 7 1/2" tall. One of a collection of international dolls being sold from the same collection. They were used for display in a closed cabinet. Many have wood platforms with the typed label identifying the country they depict. The date of 1965 on these platform s must be the date when they were either displ ayed, or acqu ir ed. Combined postage will save money -- these cultural dolls are wonderful.
