This hard to find booklet tells the story of the Seneca Council House found on the Council Grounds at Letchworth Park. The council house originally stood at Caneadea (Allegany County) but was purchased, moved, and restored on the grounds of William Pryor Letchworth's Glen Iris Estate in the early 1870s.The booklet presents the story in several ways. First, it contains an epic poem written by Minard which covers the historic structure from its early days to the "Last Council Fire" and its place of honor on the Council Grounds. He also includes informative footnotes and wonderful photographs. The booklet measures about 6 X 7 3/4 and contains 29 pages. The binding is very good (in fact, I didn't want to force it open when I photographed it, resulting in poor images) and the covers are also good with a pencil mark on the back.
