The original medals were usually silver and had a hole at the top. In 1904 there were some restrikes made. In more recent times the mint has issued this similar but different 33mm medal in bronze for collectors. It is an inexpensive addition to a presidential or historical medal collection. My understanding is that these medals were made by the U.S. Mint.In addition, this bronze medal was gold plated and housed in a clear plastic holder.Please check out our many other medals, etc in our Ebay store.
