~EARLY SIGNED INGRID ATTERBURG FOR UPSALA EKEBY SWEDEN SCANDANAVIAN ART POTTERY VASE~ *NO RESERVE* Estate fresh beautiful Atterburg early piece decorated with impressed red, blue, green and yellow coloured tiles. 10" tall x 3" at widest point in the base. No cracks. Very good condition. Shows some age crazing to the inside only of the vase. One very very small area of glaze loss on the bottom of the piece which you cannot see in sitting upright position. (see pic's) Does not take away from this rare beauty in the least. This is an exquist Ekeby for any collection of rare pottery. History: Ingrid Atterburg was employed at Uppsala-Ekeby AB and Gefle porcelain factory between 1944-63. She went on to own her own studio in Uppsala and has also freelanced periodically at various studios in Italy. She is regarded today as one of Sweden's most distinctive designers known for her free experimentation with colour and decoration methods. Her work is widely represented at museums in Sweden, Norway, Italy and at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Starting it low and letting it go. Questions welcome!
