Beautifully styledand executed marquetry piece of a scene in the Indian seaside. This 18" by 12" (45 cm by 25 cm) piece is made of about 8 different types of wood carefully inlaid and surrounded by a rosewood frame. The wood used on these pieces includes red sandal, rosewood, red and yellow cedar, yellow and normal teak, and other local, south Indian trees. All of the pieces that had been hand cut, no power tools were employed in their creation. This marquetry was inlaid by artisans in Mysore, India which has a very long and rich tradition of inlaid woodwork. All of our products are hand-made and as in most human endeavors imperfections can occur. No. 07
