Inna GemYour finest source for opals. This piece of Ethiopian Welo opal has a beautiful amber crystal 'egg' inclusion. The color play is beautifully bright with some gorgeous violets. Inna Gem does the best to offer the finest available. The Ethiopian Desert Opals offered here are the finest that I can get my hands on. These are straight from the Welo mines and these very gems were high graded out of huge lots in Ethiopia and sent here. I can offer you only the brightest plays of colors, most desirable range of sizes and base colors with minimal to no inclusions. If you were to go direct to Ethiopia chances are you couldn't consistently get finer gems than those offered in my store, just about all the top pieces go directly to Europe and Japan. This material has hydrophane properties and can be greatly enhanced when soaked in water, but I don't believe that accurately portrays the opal being offered. WELO OPALS- If you have become skeptical of working with Ethiopian opals because of your experience with the old Mezezo, Shewa Ethiopia opals I urge you to give the Welo Opals a chance. This opal behaves NOTHING like the old mine Ethiopian opals that would almost always craze over time or in the process of cutting and polishing. So far this opal is proving itself to be just as strong and dependable as Australian opals, but the overwhelming majority of this material has incredibly bright plays of color and amazing patterns that are unique to only this area, and are some of the most impressive in the opal world.
