An intriguing 19th century Chinese medal or medallion of large size in gilded bronze and in good condition, depicting a crowd of people, amongst them an older bearded man holding a rooster under his arm, all standing before a Chinese Empress and her entourage. A fascinating piece, please study the photos as I have not had the time to research it. Diameter: 6.4cm or 2 1/2 inches. Weighing 160 grams.
