Yvonne Kayotak is a renowned Inuit artist but her work now seems largely confined to carvings from caribou antler and other bone. So it is rare indeed to find these fresh to the market pencil and crayon drawings produced by Yvonne in the 1980's. I purchased these drawings when I was fortunate to meet Yvonne and her family in Igloolik in 1988. This drawing is of a woman standing beside a hole in the ice, harpoon ready to capture the seal as it comes up for air. Superbly drawn, depicting an important part of inuit life, it is on a parchment type paper and measures 14 x 11 inches. It will come to you rolled in a tube for you to frame yourself. I SHIP WORLDWIDE. Please see the other drawings, too. Please note: In the spirit of ebay, I always list my items at below their actual worth so as to encourage bidding. I will always remove them from sale if no interest is shown as it is far too much of a strain to rely on the number of watchers and leave them till the last minute!! If you like my items, then please bid what you feel is a fair price. That way, you get to own something you want and will enjoy if you win it, and I get to sleep at night!!
