My consignor was, in 1966 a school teacher with a dream. Alaska!! She found a village 60 miles from the Bering Sea and 200 miles from the nearest modern city. She had to fly in and provisions were brought in by boat in the summer when the ice went out. No one spoke English and she didn't speak the native tongue, but somehow they got along. All of the Inuit items now listed and more to come are from the people of the village she lived in and taught all grades in one room. The people took a liking to her and constantly gave these things to her. She stayed for 8 years and brought these items back. Her mother just passed and she is cleaning out many items from the past. In good condition.
