Superb solid silver cigarette case, the design by Alexander Ritchie of Iona. It does not bear any Ritchie marks, but the design of the galley and surrounding entrelac work is typically Ritchie, and I have seen an identical cigarette case with A.R. marks. It is in excellent condition inside and out, and bears the mark W.J&S, for William Johnson & Sons of Birmingham and Birmingham hallmark for 1934/5. Height 3 1/2" (9cm), width 2 1/2" (6.5cm).
