International Railway Company Dietz Vesta Lantern with Clear Globe.The IRC was an electric line that served Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Lockport, Olcott Beach NY and nearby points in the Niagara Frontier.Dietz Vesta frame is strongly marked I.R.C. on the shoulder of the lid.Lid has a number of patent dates, the earliest of which is May 4, 1920 and the latest Nov. 8, 1927. Service date is S-11-40.Base wire is bent and the solder joints where two of the base support wires join at the waist have come loose.Frame is otherwise good, retains plenty of its original tinning and would clean nicely.Wrapped handle is not original, and no doubt was added by an employee to make it easier on the hand when carrying.Comes complete with correct (for this model) fluted side font with burner.Clear globe has the Corning Glass CNX emblem and Made in USA and the Dietz oval emblem - Vesta - New York USA cast near top on opposite sides and also has a recessed oval ended panel where an etched marking could be applied.Has rim chips which do not show when in frame and in no way detract from appearance or value.
