W. AWDRY & G. AWDRY It is a fascinating and detailed background to the Railway Series stories about Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends. This is the Holy Grail for all THOMAS Fans young and older. The definitive explanation of what happened where and when. Sodor was "discovered" in 1950 following a visit by the Rev. W. Awdry to the Isle of Man. He and his brother George decided that the island would make an ideal location for the Fat Controllers Railway. George Awdry describes places where incidents happened and reveals the carefully planned structure behind the stories, which always follow real railway practice and are based on true life railway events. Separate sections cover: Railways, People, Places and Engines. A very rare and highly sought after item, especially in this condition.
