OLD Italian Faience Majolica Tea Coffee Set Assisi 15p Items priced at and selling for $50 or more get FREE SHIPPING within continental United States (please wait for your invoice) Exhuberant color and superbly painted. This is one of the best Italian faience sets seen in some time. You are bidding for 15 pieces of faience. All pieces were hand painted in a Renaissance type pattern featuring ornate griffins and fleur de lis. The set was made in Assisi, possibly Deruta and probably sometime between 1920-40s. Here's what you get: Teapot or Coffee Pot - The squat form says this is a teapot but it can also be used for serving coffee. Serpentine handles and painted marks on the bottom. Measures about 9 1/4 inches from handle to spout and around 4 1/2 inches high. Creamer & Sugar Bowl - Arched serpentine handles on both. Creamer has a wide mouth and the sugar bowl is covered. Creamer is about 4 1/2 inches handle to spout and stands 5 1/4 inches high. The sugar bowl is about 5 1/2 inches handle to handle and stands around 3 5/8 inches high. Painted marks on bottoms. Cups & Saucers - There are four cups and four saucers. Cups have serpentine handles and measure about 3 3/4 inches across; the saucers are about 6 inches across.
