An Italian Renaissance Walnut Single-Drawer Writing Desk, 16th century 32-1/4 h x 29-1/2 w x 18 d inches (81.9 x 74.9 x 45.7 cm)PROVENANCE: From the William Randolph Hearst CollectionThe rectangular top with a single frieze drawer with a wooden pull below is supported on shaped legs featuring carved nautilus-form design in relief, terminating in carved feet and joined at the base by a turned stretcher and enhanced by a floral device and rondelles on the front panel.
