Interesting and very rare Italian published silk woven postcard depicting the Umberto 1 - King of Italy. One of a series of Italian marked silk woven cards I am listing this week (do have a look at the others). Silk woven cards are more commonly seen by English weavers such as Stevens (of Stevengraph fame) and W.H.Grant. The German weavers in Krefeld were the first to produce silk woven cards - from around 1898/99 - about 3 years before the Coventry weavers. Date: Early 1900s Condition - Silk is good. There are a few rust / age marks on the silk above the portrait and to the left of the head (and one black spot) The card has a few marks and is aged (slight browning). General corner and edge wear. Postcard bak - undivided with no writing Postage and packing (plastic card protective envelope and stiffener envelope) : UK £1.00 Europe £1.50 Rest of World £2.00 (insurance, if required will be extra). Any other cards sent at the same time will be post free regardless of destination. For posting to Italy, items must be insured (at additional cost). I obtain proof of posting but can not be held responsible for items lost in the post.
