VINTAGE JAPANESE WOODBLOCK PRINT UCHIDA ART CO KYOTO Title: Unknown Artist: Izuno Gizan 1885-1957 Date: 20 th century Medium: Original Japanese Woodcut Publisher: Uchida art Co. LTD. , Kyoto Note: Gizan Izuno was born in Kyoto. He painted in Chinese style of the so-called Northern School. To learn more about the publisher of this original woodblock please html Image Size: 15 ½ X 10 ½ (Sizes in inches are approximate, height preceding width of plate-mark or image.) Condition: Printed upon "Washi" paper, hand-made from mulberry bark for strength and with full, deckled margins. Bearing the ‘Uchida’ watermark along the lower margins as well as the registration ‘kento’ notch in the lower right corner (under the matte). Signed and sealed by the artist in the image to the top right. This is a superb impression and in very good condition throughout, no damage to the print; however, the matte is torn. Never framed, very clean image by an amazing artist.
