Up for sale is an older set of J.C. Deagan chimes. I'm told that these were used on trains or ships in order to call passengers to dinner. The tone is superb and rings forever! The mallet to strike the chimes is also included. I would guess that these are 75 years old, though I'm no expert. Considering age, this piece is in very good condition. A true collectors item. T is minor wear to the plating on the notes and on the tubes beneath them. The maker stamp reads "J.C. Deagan, Inc. Chicago Patented Made in U.S.A." T are 2 hooks on the back of this that I presume would be used to hang this on a wall. ONE OF THESE HOOKS ARE MISSING. See photos. I do my best to accurately represent all items I sell, and I note all visible flaws in each piece. The company that made the now famous NBC jingle back in the early 1920's makes these 4 note chimes/xylophones. It's approximate measurements are 8-1/2" x 12-1/2". The bottom reads - J. C. DEAGAN, INC. CHICAGO PATENTED MADE U.S.A. This xylophone is in excellent condition and hanging hardware is all intact. The tones sound great and seem to be spot on. I try to describe my items accurately and honestly - my 100% feedback reflect this. This will come to you from a non-smoking and non-pet household. Thank You
