J P Limoges HP Artist Signed Bowl Pink Roses Gold Description: An exquisite garden of hand painted pink roses is beautifully portrayed on this antique Limoges large porcelain serving bowl. The skillful artist lovingly placed them on a background blending from forest green to moss to amber. Each of the flowers are trimmed with leaves of green and fawn. The artist painted a rose portrait on the creamy white porcelain exterior of the bowl, positioned just above a band of gold around the foot, a charming reminder of the Victorian Era just ended.Roses and beaded Rococo details appear in relief around the softly scalloped rim of the bowl, which is heavily trimmed in gold. The bowl is marked J P L France (for Jean Pouyat), and the bowl dates to circa 1905. It measures 10 1/2" in diameter and 2 1/2" in height. Noted is a tiny area of the rim w a sliver chip might have been retouched in gold, and you can see it in the final pic.
