Offered for bidding is a carte-de-visite picturing an young woman standing behind a chair produced by J. Smith Sr. in Lebanon, Pennsylvania in 1865. Also featured on this cdv is a scarce Civil War 2-cent Internal Revenue Banknote Stamp. The reverse of the cdv states: Photographed By J. Smith Sr. (successor to J. H. Keim), Lebanon, PA T is also a Type RN-I1 2-cent bank check revenue stamp on the reverse. (" This stamp was offered for approximately eight months, but instruments bearing it are not at all common "- from /rn/rn.htm ). The stamp is cancelled with a hand stamp " J. Smith Sr., Lebanon, PA." around the outside ring with a date of "Sep 22, 1865" in the center. (see scan). I Combine Shipping Please email me with questions.
