I normally dont write lengthy descriptions, but bear with me on this one. My previous research on these violin cases led me to believe they were used by Korbel in the late 60s as a marketing tool to sell their fine upscale brandy in. I found out the now discontinued Gentleman Jack 750ml 3rd Gen fits very well, even though the 3rd Generation is a little short, and that is included However I tried the 1st and 2nd Gen bottles and they fit very good. So if youre fortunate enough to own a 1st or 2nd gen., even better. It comes with 2 aluminum jiggers or shots, but the smaller JD shot glasses will also fit. They need to be the small, thinner ones. This case is in pretty good shape but could use some cleaning. The pics will show the fabric just beginning to seperate a little on the bottom at the big end, but is hardly noticeable when sitting out for display. The case shows its 40 plus years, which I like to think adds to the antique look. The plot thickens a little Brandy does not age well in new oak barrels, so Korbel generally ages their brandy in ( you guessed it) once used Jack Daniel barrels. Korbel makes great products so I wanted to know who owned it. You guessed right again. Brown-Forman, the parent company of our beloved JD. So my point is these 2 items are cousins at the very least.
