James Joyce, Ulysses. London: The Folio Society, 1998. Preface by Stephen James Joyce, Introduction by Jacques Aubert, with Etchings by Mimmo Paladino. Ulysses was first published by Shakespeare and Company, Paris, in February 1922. Between 1922 and 1925 the text was reprinted six times. In May 1926 Shakespeare and Company issued a second edition (mistakenly called the eighth printing) in which the type of the text was entirely reset and Joyce's corrections from the previous printings were absorbed. This edition is a facsimile reproduction of the 1926 second edition, with badly broken characters corrected and blemishes deleted, and is published by arrangement with the Trustees of the Estate of James Joyce. Mimmo Paladino's etchings for Ulysses were first published in a limited edition of eighteen copies by Edition Bernd Kluser, Munchen, in December 1994. They are reproduced here by permission of Galerie Bernd Kluser, Munchen.Printed on Ibis White Wove at The Bath Pess, Bath, with illustrations lithographed in black and two gold inks by Norton Press in full cloth, blocked and printed with an illustration by Mimmo Paladino.
