James Kent Ltd Staffordshire Rosalynde Chintz Vintage Granville Teapot I just purchased this vintage James Kent, Ltd. chintz teapot from a local estate here in Central Virginia. This teapot was produced at the Longton / Staffordshire factory as part of their popular "Rosalynde" pattern. Rosalinde is Kent's pattern No. 2662 which was introduced in the 1930's and exported in North America before and after the war. The teapot is very nicely executed on the "GRANVILLE" blank is impressed "36" "1 Pt" on the base. The richly colored floral transfer shows nice coverage over the ivory ground with fine detail seen throughout. The teapot measures 8" long, 5 " high and 5" wide. The base bears the "JAMES KENT LTD." "LONGTON" "MADE IN ELGNAD" "Roselynde" brown mark. Both the base and lid are in excellent condition with the only issue being a shallow, flat flake on the edge of the lid's botton rim (+/- 3/16"). There are a few scattered craze lines to the interior. The gold enamel border bands are in fine condition with no noted wear. This lovely Roselynde teapot would make a nice addition to any collection of vintage James Kent dinnerware or early English Chintz ceramics.
