Not sure who this artist was but it could be................ James Thompson, Junior 1878-1921, educated at Airdrie Academy and worked for his father and grandfather's firm of architects, James Thompson & Sons. He attended Glasgow School of Art under William James Anderson and Alexander McGibbon. He was locally known to have been a skilful painter and etcher. PARISH CHURCH, KILMUN early 1900's This is a nicely drawn original etching. It is signed in the bottom right corner, and titled in the bottom left corner. The back has an Art Dealer's label, James McLure, Wellington Street, Glasgow. It looks like it is in the original frame, with very old wooden backing and paper. The image is perfect with no foxing marks at all, and so are the old frame and mount which are also in very good condition, though the mount is a bit grubby. The image measures approx. 26cms by 19cms (10x7.5). Ideally it will be sent in a tube but can also be sent in its frame, please see costs below ! Postage in Tube : £3.50 Postage in Frame : £9.50 It is one of a number of etchings and drawings I will be selling over the next week or two. I bought a lot at auction to get a particular artist's work, and am selling works by William Douglas Mcleod, William Strang, E Shailand, A Watson Turnbull, James Dron, Tom Mckay, Tom Paterson, James Thomson, J Hamilton Mackenzie, read more
