This delightful sculpture is a FIGURE ON HORSEBACK by the famed artist Jan Cerny. The glass is a deep orange/red. With a cut base and a cut and polished back. It has an etched signature of Prof Jan Cerny and an Art Czechoslovakia label. It radiates a charming aura. Display it alone or with other pieces.---------------- Mould-melted glass sculpture by Jan Cerny (1907-1978). Professor Cerny was a teacher, sculptor and glass artist who is known for his modernist cubist creations in molten glass. His work is highly stylized with a sculptural approach. Many of his works are unique and one of a kind items.The condition of the sculpture is excellent with no chips or cracks. It measures 5.5 inches tall and 3.75 inches wide. Included is the original silk lined box which is damaged and delaminated due to age. Please see photos.
