(And please check out the other beautiful pots that I have on eBay.You are bidding on a wood-fired sushi tray by the gifted Wisconsin potter Jan McKeachie-Johnston.DESCRIPTION: This stellar tray has raised asymmetrical edges and a concave surface with well pronounced carved furrows. There is also one raised shell imprint surrounded by a splash of red shino. The flames of the wood kiln imparted to the surface of the tray beautifully "distressed" mottled brown and white markings- as well as a lovely accumulation of wood ash along its longest side.The sushi tray measures 6 3/8" at its longest and 5 ½" at its widest. It is in mint condition- no chips, cracks or repairs- and has the potter's impressed personal mark on the unglazed underside.This is a no reserve auction.ABOUT JAN McKEACHIE-JOHNSTON: Jan McKeachie is a highly regarded and widely collected studio potter works alongside her husband Randy Johnston at their River Falls, Wisconsin studio.
