Entitled Mediations In An Emergency, the work was produced in collaboration with the poet, critic, and curator Frank O'Hara and the Museum of Modern Art, NY in 1967. Printed on woven Mohawk Superfine Smooth paper in an edition of 2500, the print comes from copy no. 2475 (as notated on the colophon page; a copy of which is included with the sale). It is in excellent vintage condition. The paper measures 12 x 18 inches, with a center vertical fold as issued and signed in the plate by the artist. In 1967, a year after the untimely death of the poet Frank O'Hara, The Museum of Modern Art published a seminal collection of illustrated poems to celebrate the life and work of O'Hara entitled "In Memory Of My Feelings." Under the direction of editor-poet Bill Berkson, in consultation with art director/painter Robert Motherwell and poets John Ashbery and Kenneth Koch, thirty (30) different visual artists with close ties to O'Hara were invited to collaborate on the project.
