~ Snowy Mousekin ~Pincushion One Of A Kind ~ Handmade by Janie Comito 2010 * Snowy Mousekin is a new holiday ensemble ornament and pin cushion by Janie Comito for 2010. The mouse is made from vintage dense pile, hand tinted upholstery velvet and measures 2" long from rump to nose. Mousekin is adorned around his neck with a green and white plaid, satin ribbon frill decorated with a silver pine cone charm.The hand sewn pin cushion measures 2 1/2" and is crafted from gusseted dark wine red velvet with a white velvet appliqued top and hand worked greenery studded with pushed in glass head pin 'berries. A hand crafted stick pin of white felt bears the embroidered word 'Snow' on both sides and is edged with decorative stitching. The cushion is tightly filled with wool roving and shredded wool felt. Mousekin is firmly attached (sewn) to the top of the pin cushion ; the entire creation measures 3" tall. . *** This creation is intended for the adult collector. Please take great care with items that include small parts, especially pins around babies and small children .*** All of Janie's creations are unique and original folk art pieces handmade by the artist herself; they are never mass produced. Janie is proud that each one is made in Washington State - by an American artist.
