Janis Medins (Latvian, 1890-1966): from The Victory of Love (ballet, 1934) -- 3 excerpts from Suite No. 1 for Orchestra (1922) -- Aria The Blue Mountain (symphonic poem, 1924) Jekabs Medins (Latvian, 1885-1971): Legend, for string orchestra (1909) Latvian Radio Symphony Orchestra Leonids Vigners, conductor Melodiya D-021999/2000 / monaural / released 1968 Magnificent collection of fine works by two of the three Medins brothers, all leading Latvian composers. Janis Medins' Aria is one of the most beautiful and famous works in the Latvian repertoire. CONDITION: "A-" NOTE: The disc is in very good condition with no visible defects, but with light surface noise due to the inferior vinyl innt in most Melodiya LP pressings. The generic jacket is in good condition with minor wear, with a small price sticker at upper front right. No program notes. SEE MY OTHER AUCTIONS THIS WEEK : RARE MELODIYA LPs!
