Japan c.1929 RARE - Yokohama Brewery Co. overview Yokohama, Japan, c.1929. A RARE postcard overview image of the YOKOHAMA BREWERY CO. the makers of KIRIN BEER. The Yokohama brewing facilty was destroyed in the 1923 Great Kanto Earthquake and this is a view of the new one built in 1929. The original Kirin Brewery was established in 1907, located on The Bluff in Yokohama. Kirin Lemon was introduced in 1907. The (katakana) characters for Kirin Beer and Kirin Lemon (flavored carbonated drink) are on the address side as well as the Kirin logo. According to Chinese legend, the Kirin , which is half horse and half dragon, bestows good fortune to those who see it. The card is slightly oversized, 14.2cm x 9.4cm (5-1/2" x 3-3/4"). Center divided back, not posted, in fine condition. PayPal in U.S.A. & International. Postal fees are $1.50 via USPS-First Class for North America and $2.75 for overseas international if value of shipment is $1-$75. For values of $75 or more: Priority Mail will be used for USA ($4.90) & for International addresses ($13.50). For additional items won in N. America or International, I will calculate postage.
