Two late 19th Century Japanese coloured albumen photographs of: 1. The Interior of a Japanese House. 2. Two Girls in the Bath Room. Both photographs measure approx. 10 1/4 x 8 inches and are mounted to either side of a card-stock album page measuring approximately 13 1/2 x 10 1/2 inches. The album page has some text cut from a publication (presumably of the period) add under the photograph that either identifies or describes the image content and/or some ink written text. If the buyer has the facility to 'split' the album page they will then have two separate images for either framing or resell. CONDITION : The album page is warped, possibly caused by the photo album being stored in a damp environment sometime in the past. This warping could presumably be flattened by heavy weight for a prolonged period. NB: THE ALBUM PAGE MOUNT IS NOT SHOWN IN THE AUCTION IMAGE. ALSO, DUE TO SIZE CONSTRAINTS THE PHOTOGRAPHS DEPICTED IN THE AUCTION IMAGE MAY HAVE BEEN PARTIALLY CROPPED BY THE SCANNER. Photo 1 : This side of the album page is lightly foxed/toned. An ink written 'No. 321' is in the bottom left corner; a written text description is above & below the photograph. The photo itself is in Very Good condition. Photo 2 : This side of the album page is lightly foxed/toned. An ink written 'No. 322' is in the bottom left corner; an add caption 'Barth-room' is under the photograph. The photo itself is in Very Good condition; the sheen in some areas appears ever so slightly 'rubbed' w the photo has lain against its opposite without an intervening leaf.
