JAPAN FLOWERS ON DRESS AND HAIR HEAD VASE/font> JAPAN FLOWERS ON DRESS AND HAIR HEAD VASE. This head vase is signed on the bottom. Head Vase is 6 inches tall. This vase is in EXCELLENT condition. T is no chips, hairline cracks, paint skips, etc. THIS IS A VINTAGE HEAD VASE NOT NEW. Head vases came into existence in the 1940's during the second war because the price of glass vases had become extremely high and florist were looking for a substitute container for their vase deliveries. It was cheaper to buy pottery vases and Florists started using them. People especially liked the Children & Ladys heads. They were meant to be a throw away item going out with the trash when the cut flowers wilted. It is amazing that any of these are still around. . Please look at pictures. We welcome out of U.S. buyers, however we will not list an item as a gift to save the buyer from paying custom taxes. It is illegal so please don't ask us to list it as a gift on the custom form.
