The reverse has an elaborate wreath with chrysanthemums. This historic silver piece played an important part in feudal Japan becoming transformed into a modern constitutional state, as these coins earned the confidence of merchants around the world because of their consistently accurate weight and purity. The coin is approximately 37mm in diameter and weighs 26.8 grams.
