This is a large 8" round bronze mirror ornately decorated with cranes, bamboo trees, turtle & Japanese characters. This hand held mirror is 12" including handle, which is wrapped in cane. This is an antique decorative signed item from the late Edo Period (1603 -1867) and the mirror has its original wooden lacquered box, which is in fine condition. The rim of one side of top is loose but not broken. A lovely complete piece in great condition. Those of you watching this auction realize I have changed the title. Thank you to the person who shared this important information. Please see added photos which show characters on mirror more clearly, so perhaps a translation can be achieved. Also an added photo of the box trim that is loose; shows square antique nail. Thank you.
