Description: A Japanese, eggshell porcelain, cup and saucer with delicately hand painted, decoration depicting three, cartouche, panels; one depicting three Japanese females (two adults and one young girl) in traditional dress; in a rural setting, another with a water scene and finally, the third scene depicts two males in a small clinker built 'rowing' boat close to the banks of the water's edge. Between each panel are patterns over laid with gilt/gold patterning. Condition: Good condition - no chips, cracks, hairlines or fractures with decoration and gilt/gold in good order but does have a couple of really minute 'manufacturing' faults. Age: Circa Late Meiji period (Meiji period spans between 1868 - 1913) Dimensions: Cup: Height approximately 2 inches / 5 cms. Diameter at the top rim is approximately 3.5 inches / 9 cms. Saucer: Diameter is just over 5 inches / approximately 13 cms.
