JAPANESE PROPAGANDA DROP
An original leaflet, printed by the Japanese Army, probably in 1942/3.
Probably air dropped, or possibly distributed via pro-Japanese Burmese, to Indian troops or Indian populace.
British troops killing and harassing Indian farmers as they harvest their crops.
Text looks to be in Urdu,Hindi and Bengali.
Paraphrasing:
"Farmers Hide your harvest, before the British steal it " .
Coloured halftone.
Measuring 182 x 127 mm.
Central vertial creasing with marking and edge tearing.
Very few survive.
This one was brought back to UK in the back-pack of a serving Tommy.
Interestingly, Japanese script written in pencil on the back.
(If only this leaflet could relate its history !)
