An interesting and historical woodblock set of three (3) postcards with the orginal outer folio by Japanese artist Sanzo Wada (1883-1967), titled "Wood-Cut print Sketches of G.I. in New Japan". The three cards are titled on the backside with "Japanese coming Home at Hakata Pier", "Sanjo Bridge in Kyoto" and "A Snow Sight at Hibiya Junction in Tokyo" (circa 1948). Produced early in the U.S. occupation of Japan after World War II. Cards are in excellent condition, with nice bright colors. Museum quality! Notes: Sanzo Wada ( 和田 三�� , Wada Sanzō , 3 March 1883 – 22 August 1967) is a painter and a costume designer who won the Academy Award for Costume Design in 1954 for Gate of Hell .
