VINTAGE JAPANESE SILK HAORI KIMONO JACKET ... This is a drop dead gorgeous Shibori haori jacket. AWESOME design with flowing buttery soft silk. The colors are a rich chocolate... dark and light... and copper. How timely for the current trend of fashion colors. It is entirely hand stitched, which is only one of many stages in creating/finishing a one of a kind VINTAGE kimono jacket. Both the interior and exterior silks have been hand dyed. The interior silk design is sensu (fans), also a nice color taupe/brown on white. Himo ties are included and are a little art form in themselves... made from silk threads and dyed, braided, reinforced... all by hand. The silk palette started out as white. Each dot or white spot on this jacket has been hand tied with a single heavier silk thread. When all the dots or tiny dots of material have been tied into the design that the artists created, it is hand dyed. T are many tie dye designs... all with different names... all labor intensive creations. A fully shibori hoari can have up to 160,000 hand tied pieces that were dyed in one or various colors... designs or just dots... providing depth of color and design. The colors on this textile are rich and vibrant, providing a masterpiece of art to wear... Approximate Size: 29" jacket length 24 1/2" 24 3/4" outside sleeve to middle ~ or almost 50 read more
