This is a Japanese sword wakizashi. The blade is unsigned submitted as "Sosyu Tsunahiro" by NBTHK, with tokubetsu kicho paper, nagamaki-naoshi shape with nagamaki hi engravings, Muromachi period Ca.1550 era made blade. The blade is in old polish, shows minor scratch and light stain on surface but in good condition. The temper line is wild wavy gunome temper pattern throughout the blade and has healthy temper at the point. The forging grain is itame hada and no forging flaws. The blade is no bend, no nicks, no rust, no crack temper and the cutting edge is razor sharp. The blade measures 17 1/4" cutting edge, 1 1/8" width at the notch, 1 1/8" at sakihaba and 24" in mountings. It is rested in ho-wood shirasaya mountings with silver folded habaki.
