Japanese WW II Army Officer's Sword For your viewing pleasure is the beautiful WW II Japanese Army Officer's Sword. I don't know that much about these Samurai style swords. I did get some help from someone who knows a bit about these style swords so I've tried to accurately describe this sword so you collectors out t know exactly what your getting ! If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. This sword has a nice tobacco colored scabbard that retains about 93-94% of the finish. It's only apology being a replaced screw at the chape. The fittings are the standard officer's fittings. The blade appears to be in pretty good condition. The flat portions look to be very smooth. The groove shows a little evidence of some spotting. Some of this will be visible in the photo's. The cutting edge has three very tiny nicks, none of which are visible unless you hunt for them. The handle is in very good shape. I did notice that the button in the handle is present but the tip is broken off, rendering it unable to do its intended job. I was able to remove the handle quite easily, and the tang revealed a Kokura arsenal mark and one kanji character. Please take a look at the photo's below. I've tried to show this sword in detail so you will feel confident in bidding. If t is any other views you would like please ask. Bid early and read more
