This offering is for a vintage authentic rare WW2 Japanese Map of Thailand and the Gulf of Siam. Sources tell me it was printed in 1943. This map is printed entirely in Japanese on a rice like paper unlike the clay based slick paper usually associated with maps. The item measures 21 by 30 inches unfolded and about 7 1/2 by 11 inches folded. (folded 3 times) I have provided a picture of the opened map and as you can see, it is in pristine condition. This map comes in a self storage sleeve. I have also provided front and rear views of the sleeve. Beautiful colors on the protective sleeve and would make a very attractive framed artifact all by itself. I should mention this sleeve is in absolute pristine condition with no damage whatsoever. Note in the lower right hand section of the front of the sleeve is a gold on white official looking seal with black lettering. Not sure of the significance. I would venture to say that the map has never been opened prior to my doing so. No rips, tears, spots, holes or damage of any kind. Only very light toning/yellowing to both the map and the sleeve. These vintage maps look absolutely super matted and framed. And this one is in a near perfect state of preservation. Colors are bright and fresh looking. A really smart looking piece to compliment your office wall or enhance your WW2 collection. Similar
