I am selling a group of items for a friend's family. His Dad had lived in the same house since a wee lad in 1914, and throughout his life, he was a collector of everything. The downstairs in the home is a veritable museum. Most everything he had was well protected, and I believe many of the things he had were not too old when he acquired them; thus the items are generally in very good to excellent condition. This gentleman was also a Seabee in the South Pacific during WWII, which is w we believe this and other military items (soon to be listed) were acquired. At least this item I recognize: Japanese aluminum canteen. Which type or issuing agency I don't know. It's about 6 x 9", and all straps/webbing are intact. The stopper removes, & leather & buckles are complete. T is a mark on the bottom of the piece that can be seen in the pic. T is a small (3/4") field repair on the center strap on the backside of the unit. Light rusting on the buckles, & a rust stain on the carry strap, as seen in pic. Remnants of the issuing agency/identification stamp are on the main strap, but are unreadable.Guaranteed to be of WWII vintage.Good luck in your bidding. Please email with questions or for more pics. Thanks for browsing!Postage calculator is below; if the buyer requests another mode of shipping, costs will be adjusted accordingly after the sale.
