Wonderful oil on canvas of a young girl by well-known Paris School surrealist and genre painter Jean Calogero (1922-2001). Calogero was born in Sicily and studied at the Liceo Artistico in Etna, Sicily. After World War II, Calogero went to Paris and studied at Ecole des Beaux-Arts. His inaugural exhibition was at Galerie Herve in Paris in 1949, which was followed by countless international exhibitions in Paris, New York, Japan, Los Angeles, and Italy.This painting is signed lower left and is in very good condition . Approx 21 3/4 x 18 1/4 inches.
